Rende, Calabria – An intense day, full of insights and organized for product promotion. The Consortium Olio di Calabria IGP had the honor of hosting a meeting between President Massimino Magliocchi and a selection of national journalists specialized in the food sector. The event marked a significant moment for the consortium, highlighting the vital role of Calabrian extra virgin olive oil in the Mediterranean diet and the Italian gastronomic scene.
During the meeting, President Magliocchi emphasized the consortium’s commitment to ensuring the quality and authenticity of Calabria IGP oil, which is internationally recognized for its unique organoleptic properties. He also highlighted recent initiatives to promote sustainable and responsible practices among producers, in line with environmental and food safety standards.
The journalists in attendance, Riccardo Lagorio, journalist for Viaggi del Gusto, Sapori & Piaceri, Affari di gola, Degusta, Tg2 Eat Parade and Dove; Tiziano Argazzi who collaborates with important magazines including Italia a Tavola, Latitudes Travel Magazine and Viaggiatori del Gusto; Laura Maragliano, Editor-in-Chief of Sale&Pepe coordinated by Giovanna Pizzi, enogastronome, had the opportunity to participate in a guided tasting, discovering the various flavor nuances that characterize the oil of Calabria IGP. This sensory experience reinforced their understanding of the product and the importance of its protection.
The Olio di Calabria IGP Consortium thanks all participants for their contribution to this informative event, especially the Felicetti company run by their son Pierfrancesco Conforti who, at San Biase, hosted those present. And they are committed to continuing the open dialogue with the media to promote the culture of quality extra virgin olive oil.
“These are the initiatives that serve to strengthen the awareness of the path that has been traced. Our Igp oil continues to grow, never giving up the quality that is now established. That is why the presence of the national press here in Calabria testifies to this path and helps communication in a widespread way. I would also like to thank the producers who welcomed the journalists and the restaurateurs who wisely enriched their culinary experience with typical dishes of our land,” remarked President Massimino Magliocchi.
